Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): To detect viral DNA/RNA (e.g., Parvovirus B19, Coxsackievirus) within the heart muscle.
Immunohistochemistry (IHC): To count specific inflammatory cells (T-cells, macrophages) to differentiate between types of myocarditis.
